Worms in the Garden

Charli Baker is a Interpreter at Candlestick Point State Recreation Area, she also runs the Community Garden located at 1150 Carroll Ave, the North East part of Candlestick Point State Recreation Area. When the Covid 19 Pandemic affected the United States, a bump in online programming was boosted all over the United States, including programs at many California State Parks.

Through the Ports Program , an online resource for teachers and students to visit many California State Parks for video programming, Charli is giving people step-by-step instructions on how to set up a compost bin at home or school, and is explaining the benefits of composting.

Video programming is a great tool for educators to take their students to places they cannot access or strengthen programs that schools already have built into their curriculums.
